What does this tool do?

It answers one question:
Which forward lines from Team A were matched up against which forward lines from Team B, and how did they do?

The game reports at Natural Stat Trick are excellent, but there are a lot of them. A single game page returns roughly 490 tables - most hidden behind expanders and dropdown menus. This report takes data that is normally found in many Natural Stat Trick views and combines them into a single at-a-glance report where all of this information is available on a single view.

What new calculations does it make?

None. There's no special sauce here. Everything you see is the same Natural Stat Trick data you already know - it has just been combined from several tables and reports into a single at-a-glance page. All of it is 5 on 5.

How do I load a game?

It's easy. You need two things from Natural Stat Trick: the Season and the Game ID. Both are in the address bar when you're looking at a game page there. Here's the URL for the 2026 Stanley Cup Final game, with the two parts you need marked:

Pick 2025-26 from the Season dropdown above, type 30416 into Game ID, and press Load game.

How do I read the report?

There's a tab for each team, plus a Rosters tab. Each team tab has two parts.

Forward lines

At the top, both teams' forward lines side by side: who was on each line, their 5v5 TOI, and how they did by Corsi and expected goals. This is the summary view - it tells you who played, and how much.

Who they faced

Below that, a card for each of the top four lines by ice time. The line's three forwards run across the header, and underneath each one is that player's Opposition Report - every opponent he shared the ice with, sorted from most shared time to least.

Those Opposition Reports are the part worth having in one place. On Natural Stat Trick you view them one player at a time, you can use a dropdown menu on their site to view them individually. In our new at-a-glance report, we combine these into a single view.

Within each column, forwards are marked with a dark rail and defensemen with a light one, so that your eyes are more naturally drawn to the forwards in this report, while still showing the defensemen data as well.
